Cartlann na nDaoine | The People's Archive

INVITATION TO GET INVOLVED...
The North Wexford Traditional Singing Circle would like to invite singers, song makers and storytellers in Wexford (or if you have a connection to Co. Wexford) to get involved in 'Cartlann na nDaoine | The People's Archive. Perhaps you've written a new song in the traditional style in English or Irish, or you've penned a recitation about Wexford, we would love to hear from you. For more information please get in touch by emailing Rachel Uí Fhaoláin at nwtscgorey@gmail.com

This phase of the project involves the collecting, recording, and presenting, through film, both the living and evolving song tradition of Co. Wexford across the generations. Central to the project development will be the creation of a new online archive called ‘Cartlann na nDaoine | The People’s Archive’, where the recordings will be made available through the North Wexford Traditional Singing Circle website. There will also be a special screening in 2024 of a short documentary which will aim to encapsulate the essence of this archival project.

This phase of the project is kindly funded and supported by Wexford County Council in partnership with Creative Ireland. As a group we are delighted to receive this support which is great recognition of the North Wexford Traditional Singing Circle's significant endeavours since 2015 to promote and preserve the song heritage in Co. Wexford.
